How would you pronounce this name?
There is a name me and my boyfriend really like for a boy, however I am concerned about its level of "international status", if you know what I mean. If it turns out that most people don't know this name/pronounce it wrongly, we might have to reconsider.
Without looking it up (no cheating), how would you pronounce this name? Thank you!
"Artyom Petar"

ARH tyom peh TAR?
I speak Dutch, so I can imagine how people would react to it... IMO, people would say "AHR-tee-ohm", but I think most people would just be puzzled.
Well, I'd say it as it was written, I suppose-
Arty-om Pet-ar. Or perhaps, Pee-tar.
I'm fairly sure this will prove to be wrong!

ART-yahm Peh-TAHR? lol
ART-YOM PEE-TAR (Well, I'd pronounce Petar like Peter but with an AR on the end instead of ER)
ar-TYOM pee-TAR.
Ar-tee-yom Pay-tar.
I'll tackle Artyom first. My first reaction was to miss out the 'y' altogether and pronounce it ART-em. But then I thought that didn't make such sense so with the 'y' I thought may be ART-yum. And then my third and final thought, and probably the one I like the most (though it took me the longest to reach) was art-EE-ohm.
Petar is a little easier. I'd either go with the English pronunciation of Peter (PEE-ter) or put the emphasis on the second syllable and go pee-TAR.

Thank you so very much for your detailed response, Millie ^_^

Art-Yahm Puh-TAHR."
The question is, where do you live and how do people pronounce it in your area? It looks Russian, so I assume that if you live in Russia or in an area where such names are common you won't have any problems.
