Re: Lucy
Hate it hate it hate it. It's just dumb-sounding. Loo-see. Loosey. Loosey-Goosey.
Lucille Ball screeching her way through the fifties.
The little hillbilly song "Put your shoes on, Lucy, dah-da-dah, Put your shoes on Lucy, cause you know you're in the city, put your shoes on Lucy, you're a big girl now!"
Mean little girl yanking a football away from a hapless little boy who never does catch on.
A million yappy little dogs."It's one thing to be open-minded and quite another to be so open-minded your brains fall out."--Dear Abby
"Let other people push you around, and you deserve whatever bad things happen after that."--Lauren Bacall

She was very funny, I'm not denying that, but I just realized recently, watching her on some classic channel, that her voice is nothing but a screech.

It turned into a frog's croak later on.

Lately I've found myself comparing people's voices to different animals, like there's this guy at a restaurant we often eat who has this very Philadelphia Italian accent, and I can picture a certain kind of streetwise tomcat talking with that voice.
If a peacock could talk, it would sound like Lucille Ball.
