it's very pretty. A little ambiguous as to pronunciation, which is always a big strike against a name. I've known several, most of whom went by Tammy. Most pronounce it Ta-Mahr-A,but I've also heard it to rhyme with camera, and like Ta-Mare-a.

My first inclination is to say Ta-MARE-a, I have kind of a flat-out accent like that, not very elegant.
I could say Ta-MAR-a, though.
