For me, outdated brings to mind names of people who are 45+, basically my parents, aunties and uncles and their friends.
I have only ever met one Erin and she would be about 7 or 8 now. In my experience Erin is a fresh name, I really like it and it is a relatively new addition to my long list. It makes a nice change from all of the girl names that are 4+ syllables long and end in 'a' (though I will admit to loving some of those names too!)
