BA Sighting
An old friend of mine has a new niece named Vylette Monroe.
Honestly it took me a bit to figure out it was meant to be pronounce Violet.
Also, a friend of mine passed away recently, her name was Maxine Yvonne (possible Yvette, I can't remember).
So what do you think of their names?

I'm not a fan of Vylette. It makes me think of the words vile and vilest. Vylette: a little Vyle? I like Violet, but. The "violent" association with Violet is not as bad as the "vile" of Vylette IMO.
Honestly I hate Monroe as a name for a girl. It's so obvious that it "means" the image of Marilyn Monroe! Plus spunkitough surname name. I think it's a really bad name - actually tacky.
Maxine Yvonne or Yvette is nice and a good combo. The names aren't favorites but I like them well.

Hi !!!
Congratulation for your friend but I'm sorry for your loss...
Vylette is terrible...I don't know how is it pronounced...too strange and too a 'variant name'.
Monroe I likr it on a boy as a first name...but on a girl, nay.
I prefer Yvette...it is more elegant and youthful for me.
Maxime...I don't like it very much. It seems too old-fashionable and quite snobbish.
But Maxim -its masculine variant- is super !!!!

Gawrsh. Vylette is beyond horrific, and I don't even like Violet. I hope Monroe had some personal/family reference, not just Marilyn.
Give me Maxine Yvette any day. I prefer Yvette to Yvonne, but as a mn it hardly matters. And I like Max for a boy enough to think about using it, so I'd never use Maxine, but it's fine. Elegant and cheerful. Sorry about your loss.

Vylette is so bad! It somehow evokes the word "violent" to me even moreso than the original spelling. Monroe is unfortunate with it. Vixen-like combo.
I think Maxine rules. My grandma had a cat named Maxine but I wish she had used it on one of my aunts, haha. It's spunky and different yet totally down-to-earth and relatable. I don't like Yvonne much but it's a pretty combo for sure!
