Kian
What are your thoughts on the name Kian? Which pronunciation do you prefer - KEEN or KEY-in? Do you think it might be often mispronounced (KY-in for example)?JennHenry Luis 06-07-10

I don't like it but KEY-in sounds better. I think the true pronunciation is KEEN

I say KEY-in. I think it's adorable and I'd use it.

Prefer the pronunciation KEY-IN, sound more like a name that. Personally don't really like the name.

Actually, my first try at the name was KY-in.

I have never seen this name before and did not know if it was meant for a boy or girl. I pronounced it kie-ann, rhyming with Diane.

I like the KEEN pronunciation. KEE-in seems a little flimsy and almost hard to say IMO.People might say it wrong at first in the US, but it's not a difficult enough name to really worry about people learning. The sounds are familiar enough.

I hate how it doesn't have one pronunciation in English. In Persian it would be Kee-an, right?

I pronounce it differently kind of a mix between key-an and key-en that's how I've always heard it pronounced here in the UK. Never heard it as KEEN. I don't think people would automatically say Ky-in eitherAs for the name in general, i'm not really a fan, but then i'm not really a fan of K names on boys in general.

I love the name but would probably choose to spell it Cian with the pronunciation KEY-in.

The only Kian I know of pronounces it Keye-in, like Ryan.
I don't like it, and the fact that people have to wonder how it's pronounced is a huge dealbreaker even if I did like it.
