My Grandparents had a traveler family who lived near them for a while and did some work on my granda's farm. I know they had a daughter called Brittania and a son called Absalom. The mother was called something like Raziela or Rachiela or Rafaela - I can't remember!

Naming within these different cultures is hugely diverse... It's a really hard question to answer. It's kind of like asking "what names do Americans actually give their child?" The answer is so huge it can't easily be expressed.I can give a few traditional first names for the Vlax Romani (Kalderash specifically) but it's like... many people don't use these names. It's common to give first names that are from the country the family is living in. It's equally common to give a child two names; one that works in the country they're living in, and one name that is traditional. Nicknaming and name changing is also very common among Kalderash families... and many of these "traditional" names have an obvious Slavic influence, because of the countries the Vlax Romani generally live in, so you'll get people who say they aren't REALLY Kalderash names, even though they've been used for ages.Anyway. These are some of my favourites.Girls:Anuska
Cini
Kali
Loyzi
Luska
Mali
Mara
Sima
TaliyaBoys:Cimbrya
Cayko
Culika
Dyurika
Froska
Imbrya
Laci
Maksi
Marko
Mosa
Savka
Tanas
YanciMany of these should technically be written with accents over certain vowels, but Kalderash is rarely written down and I'm not really sure where the accents should go, so I've left them out.
