Haven
A friend of my older sister is expecting her second child and plans on using the name "Haven" apparently, according to my sister. We both agreed that we really hope she decides against it. For one thing, there are far better names out there (yes, her child, her choice) but that's just our opinion and secondly, we have a neice named "Aven" Haven & Aven will undoubtedly get mixed up in the future as what my sister pointed out.Her first child is: Lillian. 'Lily' so what are your thoughts on 'Haven' and the sibset, 'Lillian & Haven' (we personally think they don't go together at all) I'll post the actual name when the time comes and hopefully it isn't 'Haven' but who knows \:

Despite it being my name, I don't really like it. I know a few Havens now, so it's becoming pretty trendy. The Havens I know are Haven Norah Magdalene, an only child, and the other is a sister to Hope, Hannah and Elijah.

I pretty much agree with you, but I don't think Haven is awful. It has a nice meaning and isn't spelled weirdly. And since your sister's friend isn't family, then I don't see much of an issue with Aven and Haven being similar (btw, I prefer Haven). The two names will probably get mixed up for you and your sister, but that's about it.Lily and Haven are kind of cute together. Yes, they're different but not too bad.

I like Haven, but it doesn't really go that well with Lillian. Lily and Haven is fine though.

I like it. I prefer it for a boy, but I think it's appealing for a girl, too. Funny, a friend of mine just had a baby this morning and named her Haven! It has a simple middle name and I think it's very sweet but it has that quirkiness I like.

I happen to like Haven, but agree that it doesn't seem like the sister of a Lillian - unless Haven had a very soft middle name. Like... I don't know, Haven Amelia, or Haven Annabelle.

Haven isn't my style but there are tons worse names out there. I'd just shrug. For Aven and Haven, one of then (probably Haven) would just have to go by a nickname. Because otherwise I'd be lost. ;) Havy? Hay?I think Lillian and Haven go quite well together actually.

I used to feel the same way about Haven, but softened when I met one. It's still NMS, but I love the meaning of the word. Lily and Haven together make me think of a very pleasant spot in the woods!ETA: I would never decide against a name just because it rhymed with a friend's kid's name. The negative effect it would have on their life would be so minimal.

I like Haven as a GP, but I don't think it goes with Lillian.

I don't like it. It kind of seems trashy or like a name of a rock band. I love Nirvana don't get me wrong just not the name.

This name has grown on me since I do know someone with it, but overall I am not a huge fan. "Lillian and Haven" doesn't sound amazing, but I do like "Lily and Haven."

Never liked it, because it doesn't seem like a person's name, but more like a facility. Like a homeless shelter, or a beagle rescue mission, or something like that. Like it should be the middle name and the first should be Brook or Willow or Rest.

I like Haven for a boy; I've had it in a combo forever. As a girl's name, it doesn't really 'go' with Lillian.
However, I don't see how your niece's name is relevant at all. If they were family members who would spend a lot of time together, that might be a consideration, but they're not... Your sister's friend shouldn't have to consider your niece.

Well the fact that yes, they will spend time together. This isn't a friend\person in which a part of the family never sees or hardly. The two children 'Aven' and so called 'Haven' would see each other a significant amount. That's why. But if that doesn't bother the woman, (Aven & Haven) let it be I suppose

Hi !!!!I agree with you.
Personally I don't like Haven at all.
I prefer names with an other style. This future mum is not your relative.
She is a friend.
So...what about your neice Aven?
Yes, these names are similar but for me it doesn't matter.Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I love Lillian and think Haven is not bad, as word names go. And I don't like too many names that begin with an H. They don't really go together, but I think that's fine.
