I think the practice is boring too. I've only known one family that did this -- my BIL's family. All of his three sisters have Lynn as their mn. Lynn is about the most boring mn ever, imo.

I have heard of Catholic families where every female has Mary or Maria in their name. This is equally repetitive, but at least these names are nice.
