Is this name pronounced with the accent on the EL like EL-ee-a, or the accent on the ee like el-EE-a?

I recently met a little girl named Elia, she pronounced it as EL-ee-a.

I would pronounce it AY-lee-ahsimilar to Kayla but with the extra "ee" sound. Reminds me of the Spanish Elian and Elias. (Remember little Elian Gonzalez? And I have a Mexican neighbor named Elias.)

Elia Kazan, the producer and director, pronounced his name EE-lee-ah, with the stress on the first syllable.
