I had a second cousin named Deirdre. Funny that you ask about pronunciation because I noticed that my mother always pronounced it "DEE-et-ra", with a hard T in the middle there. I said Deirdre "deer-druh" and wondered why my mom said it that way and if she was just wrong or if it was a legitimate alternate pronunciation.

Anyway, I don't like it. No particular reason other than I just don't think it's pretty or sounds attractive.
