"Famous" local triplet BA
So, last night was Canada's federal election, and a local couple experienced 15 minutes of fame when they were allowed to skip to the front of the polling line so they could vote before immediately going to the hospital for a C-section birth of triplets. (news link: removed)It turns out I know someone who knows them, so I got the scoop on their names!Identical triplet girls:Martha Erna
Sadie Helen
Eleanor Mae
& brother Oswald!Apparently all the first names are related to the Beatles and all the middles are honouring grandmothers. WDYT???

I'd be pissed if I were the one named after Sexy Sadie! Especially since that song is meant to scold the Maharishi. Overall not a great namesake. Eleanor is also way depressing in that sense. Yeesh. I'm surprised they didn't use Lucy. Not that anyone asked, but my Beatles triplets would be Julia, Prudence, and Margaret "Rita".

Love them! So 'grandma' cute..

They're not bad. I genuinely like Eleanor Mae and I like Martha and Eleanor together. With them being formal names, I'd prefer Sarah "Sadie" to go along with them, but it's all good since they are part of a theme.Oswald is more obscure and really stands apart from the girls' names. Can't say I love it, though.

As themes go, it's delightfully subtle, but Sadie and Oswald are unremittingly horrible.

Martha, Sadie and Mae are all fantastic, but the other names I can do without.

Eleanor and Martha are gorgeous - they're classy and beautiful, age very well and are so feminine. I am not so keen on Sadie, it seems less substantial and a little bit childish. Overall I think it's a lovely set :)

Eleanor and Martha are good names.
Sadie is sort of pathetic next to Eleanor and Martha.
I agree the Beatles theme turns out to be very negative! Wow.
I hope you don't get your acquaintance in trouble by posting the names!

I like Eleanor. Helen's nms but okay. Erna (actually Ernst and Ernestine, but close enough) and Mae are also family names for me, so I guess I can see that.I don't care for Martha or Sadie. If I was picking names for three girls based on Beatles songs, I'd go with:
Lucy, Julia, and Prudence, or maybe SunshineLucy Erna / Sunshine Erna
Julia Helen / Sunshine Helen
Prudence Mae / Sunshine Mae

I rather like Blackbird Mae myself! ;)

Sunshine Mae? I am glad the decision fell on THEM.

Why are you always so UNNECESSARILY rude?No one asked for your opinion here

I just hate all the songs they chose. Who wants to be told they're named Eleanor after a song about alienation?

Awesome. Martha, Sadie, and Eleanor. Wow. Retro, much?
I really like Sadie. And I'm loving Mae in the middle there.
I can't help but feel sorry for the fourth grandmother, who was not honoured. :(

Got some info on that +I got a small update on that front - apparently the three particular grandmas honoured all passed away this summer, which is why one was "left out"I also learned that they have a brother named Oswald!Martha, Sadie, Eleanor and Oswald. Now there's a set!

That really helps about the grandmas. :) How sad to lose all three in one summer though. Somehow I want Oswald to be the crazy youngest child. But I suppose he "will do" as the oldest.

Erna! I "discovered" this name the other day and immediately fell in love. How serendipitous!

I like the first names together and I like the subtle theme but Martha Erna is a terrible combo.

I love the names, except I would have gone with Martha Helen and Sadie Erna. Adorable.

True, if you could mix and match the first and middle names, I'm not sure why in the world they would have used Martha Erna.

Ditto. That is exactly what I was going to say.

Me too!:)

The whole bunch sounds like it was culled from the nursing home register.
Funny about the Beatles obsession: "Martha My Dear" is about a sheepdog, and the Sadie song is "Sexy Sadie."

And then there's Eleanor. I like it by itself, but not when it's intentionally connected to the song.Eleanor Rigby, died in the church
And was buried along with her name
Nobody came...All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

I personally think themes especially for multiples are cheesy, but the names themselves are very nice. Martha is particularly sweet on a little one.

Agreed. Lately I have just swooned over Martha for a little girl.
