Eh. It has a sort of sashaying-spunky quality, like the De- is a prefix. As a girl's name I think: Elaine --> Lainey --> D'Laney --> Delaney.
When I think of the surname, which I usually don't, it seems really very mannish. Like Sheridan.
But I'm about as used to it as I am used to Mackenzie and Kennedy - so that it doesn't bother me.- mirfak
