It's popular where I live, but not excessively so. Not a problem there. I like both Daniel and nn Dan very much; Danny is appalling but avoidable.

Given another son, I'd have campaigned vigorously for Daniel Thomas, after DH's grandfather and mine. But, in DH's family there used to be a tradition of using an H name as the fn and then Daniel as a mn, and using Daniel. So, that would be a problem! We like three given names, but finding a suitable H name is a stretch. I'd go the Hugo route, or even Hugh since it wouldn't be used out loud (some people here can't tell the difference between Hugh and you, which can make conversations interesting), but I don't know any good alternatives, including the ones used in the family - Horace, Harold and Hilton. So, Hugo Daniel Thomas, known as Daniel or Dan! Oh yes.

I love the name Daniel. One of the Great great Grandad's was called Daniel. I think it's a lovely name.

If it weren't an overused name in my family, I'd be willing to. It's a family last name, and EVERY FEMALE WITH THE MAIDEN NAME DANIELS HAVE GIVEN DANIEL/ DANIELLE TO A CHILD.

I love Daniel and its popularity doesn't bother me. It's a classic, perennially popular name. Daniel Noah is dreadfully handsome but I don't care for Jasper Daniel. Too much "aa" sound, and Jasper is so harsh.

I love how gentle it is, but the superfluity of guys named Dan in my life/the world is deeply unattractive. I appreciate it as an unexpected middle name (e.g. Homer Daniel, Ulysses Daniel, Horatio Daniel).

I think Daniel is a lovely name. It is SO's original fn. Probably wouldn't use it (not that I'm likely to have children but hypothetically) for that reason (he changed it).

Daniel Noah is nice. Re: Jasper Daniel, while I like each name, I don't care for the flow of it very much. Daniel is one of the few standards that I do like. The popularity doesn't really turn me off in this case. Normally, it would.

I started to really like Daniel and David a while back ago. Before that I thought they were both boring, but now I quite like them because they are so "boring". They're handsome. And I'm talking about Daniel and David as a group, because they are the same kind of name to me.
Popularity doesn't really bother me. There's usually a reason as to why a name is popular, and most of the time it' because the name is great. ;)

I've always loved the name Daniel. It strikes me as strong and sweet...and just unusually well-rounded for some reason. I'd say it's a deep forest green.

Daniel Noah is very nice. I would suggest combos to you, but I'm not sure if you would like any of them.

I really like Daniel, I think it's very handsome. Your earth tone colors of it sound nice, I'd like a name too if I saw those. But to me, Daniel starts black and ends yellow, so doesn't do a lot for me in that regard.

I'm not a huge fan of Noah, it's very blah to me, so Daniel Noah is underwhelming. Jasper Daniel is ok. I'd like it paired better with something that plays up its adventurous side, like Daniel Blas, Daniel Diarmaid, Daniel Everett, Daniel Grier, Daniel Silvio, Daniel Thatcher

I would consider using Daniel, but it's my brother-in-law's name. Its popularity doesn't bother me at all, I mean, my son's name is Benjamin. Anything classic like that is always good. :)

I like Daniel like I like Nathan and Adam and Jonathan- sturdy, handsome, timeless, "wide net" sort of name that you can't really go wrong with. I do dislike Dan and Danny though so that turns me off of use IRL.

I love Daniel. I also know some annoying Dans, but Daniel is still safe. I also think of it as one of the most classically used names around the world - if you look at popularity rankings, you'd be hard pressed to find a country in Europe or South America without Daniel in its top 100. That actually makes me like it more.

Daniel Noah is beautiful, though I do view him as a troublemaker for some reason. :)

I have always felt that Daniel is a handsome name, but that Dan and Danny detract from it exponentially. Therefore it's usability is questionable (for me).

Jasper Daniel though, that is just classy and smooth. I really like it.

I like it, it's a light grey-ish blue for me. I personally wouldn't use it as a first name though as I dislike the nn Dan.

I like it. I know three Daniels. One is early twenties, one is late twenties. The other is 8.

I like it, but the popularity turns me off. It doesn't turn me off as far as how well I like the name, but it turns me off as to how likely I'd be to use it. The likelihood, if I were in a position of having more children, would be nil.
