I have never heard it with two syllables. I say it with three.

I say Bee-ah-tris (english) or Beh-ah-triss (french/german). I never heard somebody say Bee-tris.

As the granddaughter, daughter and mother of a Beatrice, I've only ever heard the three-syllable BEE-a-tris version. My daughter has often been called BEE-tris, but never by English-speakers; she reports that it often sounds more like BEERtris, and though she's happy to be associated with the drink, she rejects it firmly as part of her name. She chooses to be called Bea, pronounced like the insect (and with that in mind, we gave her the family mns Elizabeth and Anne). My mother was the same. I've heard Bea pronounced like BAYa by German-speakers, which I like but it doesn't seem to fit comfortably into English sentences.

I say BEE-triss. I'm not keen on the BEE-uh-tris way because it often sounds like BEER-triss. Less nice.

I like the French and Italian pronunciations better than the English ones, actually, but either way it's such a nice name.

I pronounce it BEE-uh-tris. A friend of mine pronounces it BEE-tris. We're both Australian.

I pronounce it with 3 syllables, but my SO and his family say it in 2. Same with Beatrix. I've heard others do the same thing, too.

Since I don't like BEE-tris or BEE-trix, Beatrice & Beatrix are off my lists.

BEE tris. This was my grandma's name. To me, BEE tris is more American, and BEE uh tris is more British.

I've heard it pronounced BEE-ə-tris and BE-ah-trees, but never BEE-tris.

I think Beatrice is a lovely name, when pronounced BEE-uh-tris.

I say BEE-uh-tris, which is definitely how I like it said :).

I prefer the Swedish pronounciation, be-uh-TREES. The Italian pronounciation be-a-TREE-cheh is cute, too.

I have only ever heard it pronounced "BEE-uh-tris." That's still the pronunciation I prefer.
