I didn't know the Teddy connection, but that is cool. I think it will work for you, especially since you use Mick for Michael (which I love).

I kinda wish I had known about the Teddy thing for Ed-names, because my brother is an Edward and I adore Edgar... but dislike Ned and Ed as nicknames. Love my brother obviously, but Ed is unappealing to me.
