Yeah I like it. I use to think it was painfully boring but you don't encounter it that often on younger kids so it's actually kind of refreshing. Plus it's my "father in laws" name and he's such a great guy that it makes me appreciate the name more for honoring purposes.
Elior John and John Ellis are my go-to John combos but I agree it generally needs a middle name with some 'oomph'
