This name's really been growing on me recently, and I would definitely consider it for a possible future daughter. WDYT of it?

I find it frumpy in a fun way.
However, as a child I acted in a musical play based on School House Rock... and part of my song (on the use of "interjections") was :
Geraldine played hard to get, oo, oo oo, But Gerald knew he'd woo her yeeeet, so, despite her objections, he showed his affections, while Geraldine hollered some INTERJECTIONS!".
As an adult, it seems like a totally inappropriate storyline for a song that kids sing. And, Geraldine is forever tainted in my mind as the girl who couldn't get away from handsy Gerald.

I always kind of thought of this name as dowdy and stuffy and, well,...ugly. Like a softer but no less grating Gertrude. But today I somehow brought it up in conversation, and it struck me how nice it actually sounded spoken aloud! So now I actually kind of like it, and I'd be pretty excited to meet a little Geraldine. So...yeah. Given time, I could definitely see myself consider this name, at least as a middle if nothing else.

I knew a young Geraldine! It was very unusual to come across, and I really liked it. She went by "Ger" which I thought was terribly glamorous. Also it's got that great Coleridge character to go with it. Two thumbs up!

I love the name Geraldine. It would make my day to meet a young firstname bearer of it. Plus, there are so many nickname opportunities for it -- if you choose to go in that direction, that is.

Really? Huh. There is nothing about Geraldine that makes me excited at all. But it's a bit obscure and I think it's awesome if you want to use it. I would probably err on the side of pairing it "safely" with something more mainstream.

I like it! I think it's charmingly clunky. I'm not sure what nickname I'd like for it. Probably Dina because I don't like Geri at all.

When I was in middle school, I had a friend named Geraldine, although we didn't go to school together, as she attended the parochial school. She always said that she was named Geraldine because her mother, having suffered several miscarriages, prayed to St. Gerard during her pregnancy that this baby would make it through.
Anyway, I can't say that I like it. Seems clunky to me. And I really hate the possible nickname Geri, though I must say my friend Geraldine was never called Geri.

I like the name, although it is a neighbour's name and she is a little "out there" so I don't know that I could use it myself without thinking about my neighbour. I think too I would find it difficult because there isn't really a good nickname with it. Unless there is and I just don't know it. haha.

It's almost comically ugly, like a name in a joke. Like a joke about two middle-aged housewives going to the casino for the first time. One would be Geraldine and the other something like Maxine or Irma.
