Niall, Nile, and Cloud
I am really liking Niall as a boy's name. My British other half says it's looked upon as a bit poncy over there, but I also love Florian and Ignatius so pfft whatever. Anyway, what do you think of Niall? Is it too associated with the guy from One Direction? Is it gonna explode in popularity in the US soon, do you think? And speaking of things pronounced like Niall, there was a baby girl on TV a couple days ago named Nile. I thought that was pretty neat, but probably would've preferred it on a boy. And speaking of things that people involved in geological sciences study, I was babysitting a few weeks ago and playing baby dolls with a little girl. I asked her what her baby's name was and she said Cloud. At first I thought it was a bit silly but then I thought it could make a cool name. I'm not particularly fond of the sound, but it seems like something someone on this board would like as a GP so I'm throwing it out there for you guys.

I'm not very familiar with the whole One Direction thing, so I'm not sure if Niall would be associated with it. I like the name when pronounced NEE-al, but not NIE-al. Nile is okay, but it would be better on a boy. And maybe in the middle name spot.Cloud is nice for a fictional character or something, but I don't think it's usable on a real person.

I honestly thought the One Direction dude was Nial (which I guess isn't even a name), and I've got a friend who's completely obsessed with One Direction and both my kids are at least vaguely into them as well. But then, I've also always completely sucked at spelling.Nile is pretty cool. I guess it could work on either gender.Cloud is the main character of 'Final Fantasy VII' (and the 'Final Fantasy: Advent Children' movie) who also appears in at least one of the 'Kingdom Hearts' games. He's got spiky blond hair and a really big sword.
