Beth
I'm really into Beth lately. I like Elizabeth/Elisabeth, don't like Bethany. Is there anything else it could be short for?
Also, does anyone else think of the KISS song when they hear this name, or is it just me?

I love Beth. It is probably the softest and prettiest Elizabeth nickname. But, I have always just liked it on it's own.
If you are not into Elizabeth, there are other standards like Annabeth, Lilibeth, Jobeth, Marybeth, etc.... plus variants on Bethany like Bethanne, Bethan, or Bethel.
I actually considered Lilibeth seriously for a while. It's a very popular name in PH.
In any case, there are others that might stretch to a Beth nickname, like Tabitha... which could be spelled Tabetha if getting kre8tive is something you would do.
Also, Bettina, Beatrice, Betrys, Babette or Betony might be explainable with the nickname Beth.
Hope that helps!
(and yes, I do think of the song)

I don't think of the Kiss song first, though I do like the song. My roommate was named Beth when I first moved out on my own. I liked her and we got along well, but we were never best friends. Phillip always referred to her as Sinus Beth because of her voice. lol
I think Beth can manage as a first name, though I do prefer Bethany. I guess it could be short for Bathsheba, but it's a bit of a stretch and I wouldn't expect a person who would use the name Bathsheba to tone it down so far.
Marybeth? Bethanne?

I also think of the KISS song.
I suppose if you don't like Bethany the chances are you won't like Bethan either. But I do. Bethany sort of trickles off into the sands of tedium, but Bethan has oomph and energy.
Then there are the fakes, like Annabeth. One that might well be uniquely South African is Jacobeth (YAHcoobeth or YAHcoobet), but I rather deplore it.
