Ignatius
What would you think if you met a little boy named Ignatius? First impressions?
What would you name his siblings?
What would you use as a middle name?Bouncing around Ignatius as a name for us again. I've always loved it, but worry it's too much for a baby/child, even though Iggy is quite delightful nickname...

I think it comes across as a quirky old fashioned name. I think it's a lot nicer than some modern names!

I like the idea of it, but I feel it looks better than it sounds, I miss the 't' being in the spelling but not enjoying the 't' sound in the pronounciation. I do like Ignotus, which I think JK used in HP.
It does make me think tenacious, and not just because it rhymes. I'd be pleased if I saw a little Ignatius.
Ignatius, Amadeus, Antonia, Constantin, Leocadia maybe for siblings.Ignatius Johan
Ignatius Salvator
Ignatius Jean - Baptiste
Ignatius Sylvester

I have met a little boy named Ignatius. I really liked the name. He's a very energetic little thing, sometimes goes by Iggy. I thought it suited him.Personally, I'd go with Ambrose & Cecelia. I'm sure there are tons of others that would work, too.Ignatius Arthur
Ignatius Felix
Ignatius JulianSomething like that.I really love Ignatius.

I don't like how it sounds. I'd probably feel sorry for the kid bearing this name. It sounds rather harsh and like it belongs on a man from the 1700s. I don't care for Iggy either. I could see him being teased at school because of it too :(
However, it might not be like that where you live but I'd definitely consider that possibility.

Ignatius to me seems more of a name for a character. I mean I can understand one taken a liking to the name as a GP type. But as for naming an actual child this...it makes me question what was going on in the parents mind and if the mother was heavily medicated. The name is quite honestly, too out there.
Iggy is innocent enough. (Though if a large kid was named this that could be problematic; iggy the piggy. Iggy piggy) or even Icky Iggy since the word sounds so close to the name. Ignatius I feel would work better on an older male (specificaly an evil character; an antagonist. Or better yet, an antagonist who isn't human or only half-human. The name "Ignatius" doesn't really seem like a "humanly" type of name imo. I mean I'm aware its a real name, I just feel its actually quiet harsh for a human

I like it. It's one of those names I don't think about, but when I encounter it I like it more than I realize. I like Ignace more, but anyway. If I encountered a little Ignatius, I'd be really pleased. I think it would be a bit gutsy to use, but it's not totally over the top imo.Siblings, hmm. I think I'd expect classic-historical type things, maybe a mix of common and offbeat. Ignatius, Margaret, and Jolyon or something like that. I actually have a friend who had planned on naming her son Ignatius, but changed it shortly before he was born. He would've had sisters Eloise, Beatrix, and Harriet.Middle name I'd make something more boring, like Paul or Richard, but something hip would work too depending on where you're going with it. My friend was going to use Felix.I think Nate is the best nickname for it, not a fan of Iggy. But Iggy certainly softens it up!
