I prefer Alaric, although I don't really like both

As a teen I really liked Alaric. It has a dashing sound. However as I've grown up, I prefer Emeric or Emerich. I'm not sure why, except maybe it seems more rugged and handsome than prickly, which I think Alaric and veer towards.

Love love love both! Alaric has been my top choice for awhile now, so of the 2, it's my fav. But either option is fantastic!

I prefer Alaric but I think both sound handsome and sophisticated =)

I prefer Alaric. It's got a nice sound to it, feels like it's got some history, is neither overly difficult to spell or overly difficult to pronounce, and can be shortened to either Al or Rick (possibly even Lars).Emeric is fine too, but it just doesn't look/sound as nice to me.

I enjoy them both. They are both gentle-strong to me. I like Emeric a bit better because I find it easier to say. Plus I like Em or Emer as nicknames, much better than Al or Alar.

I like both names as they're uncommon where I live (which is what I like most of the time) but I prefer Alaric over Emeric because of the meaning.

Emeric is dangerously close to emetic, which totally disqualifies it as a human name!Alaric is very different - dashing and energetic. Could shorten comfortably to Al or Rick, if necessary. I'd consider it very seriously.

I prefer the sound of Alaric, yet I prefer the nick-name possibilities with Emeric.

Also like AmalricI prefer Emeric, but prefer it spelled the German way, Emmerich. Amalric is appealing to me.
