I'm going against the grain. I don't care for it; the pronunciation deters me. If you plan to use it in real life for a child, I would suggest giving it careful consideration unless you live in Ireland, where people will likely know how to pronounce it. In most places, I could definitely see Siofra being mispronounce.

I feel like this is a tricky Irish name that is actually pronounced "She-Ra" or something. Is it?

I think it's darling! And the meaning? To die for. I must add it to my list. I liked it some time ago, we're talking a few years, but I suppose I quickly forgot it. It's handy you mention it now because I've been thinking about Sofia a lot lately, and what a pity it is that it's so popular. Siofra is the perfect alternate, I think.

It has a nice mystical feel to it, but like many Gaelic names, it's difficult to pronounce and/or spell. I think it would make a better mn than fn.

I'm not sure. It sounds like the French word for cipher to me. I think there are definitely better Irish names out there. But it's alright.
