Re: Nicholas, Perry & Rutherford

Nicholas - basically LOVE. It reminds me of Saint Nicholas and Nicholas Joseph Fury, both of which are very positive associations. :) When I try to picture a Nicholas, I see a man who is educated and intelligent, who loves his friends and family deeply and wants very much to do the right thing.
Perry - largely indifferent. I don't think I have any real associations for this, other than that it sounds like "Peri," one of the companions of the Doctor on Doctor Who (Perpugilliam "Peri" Brown). Perry to me sounds like a generally prattish prep school boy with more money than sense or a leisure-suit wearing criminal who's greatest strength is his charm.
Rutherford - dislike as a first name. Though I think it would be fine as a middle name. As a first name, it brings to mind extreme snobbery, a sort of old money entitled jerk who really couldn't care less about anyone he considers beneath him (which is basically everyone).
