My cousins had a dog for years named Mitzi. When I was little I called her Fritzi for no reason (which I now actually like??)

As a nn for Maria it's kind of cute.

As a nickname or on a cat. I can't think of a good long name for it, though.

It's stupid in the US. I can't speak for other countries. I sure as heck wouldn't want to be named Mitzi.

I knew a Mitzi growing up. It was just a name. Kind of untidy maybe, like Harriet or Debbie, but not really stupid. Missy, though ... I'm not sure that ever doesn't seem a little stupid. I knew a few Missys growing up too and they weren't stupid but the name still kinda is.

It's *no t as* stupid if it's on a cat or a dog.

I like it. It's too nicknamey for me to use as a full name, but I think it's cute.

I have a couple friends named Mitzi. Wouldn't use it myself, but I like it fine and it doesn't seem stupid on either of them. :)
