Keller
Read this in a magazine; it was the name of some minor celebrity's son. I think he was about five or six.
I don't hate it. Thoughts?

Eh, it's way too tied to a last name for me. Like, Smith or Jones. I don't find it appealing even if it wasn't.
I like it. I don't mind the Helen Keller association. I also like Kellan and Kellian. I have a thing for K names, which is a tad unfortunate seeing as how trendy they've become lately.
My first instinct was to like it, but then I thought of how close it is to the word "killer". Not a great idea.
ditto.

Keller & Keller
It's a law firm around here. Their commercials have been on for years with the same lame voice over and gong sound. It would certainly be made fun of here. But trying to look at it more objectively, I think it's kinda cute as far as surname first names go. It actually makes me think of Kit Keller from A League of their Own before Helen Keller too, and neither of those are bad associations.

Is Helen Keller a bad association, to everyone mentioning her?
Just curious. She did a lot of great stuff but I get the feeling a lot of people just see her as the funniest Apples to Apples card.
I also don't hate Keller as a name. But I don't love it either. I'd assume that it was a family name if I heard it.

I actually think she's a brilliant association. Although to be fair, I go to an all girls' school, and she's one of our houses, so I know a little bit about her and why she was a pretty amazing woman in her time. I'm not too sure about Keller as a name though. Maybe because it just reminds me of school along with early mornings, exams, work, stress, so not necessarily a good thing. And it's not a surname name I particularly like. I feel Helen, Helena (or Helaina) would be a better option.

I don't consider it a bad association. I loved her life story so much as a child that all of my biographical projects were on her. She was an amazing, strong woman who I would be happy to honor-- as Helen.
That being said, kids and even (sometimes especially) adults can be cruel. Given the opportunity there could be less than kind remarks. That, and someone mentioned one of my other concerns-- it is similar to killer.

I like it as mostly as a guilty pleasure name. Helen Keller does come to mind and also the word "Killer" :S
I feel that

I'm not really a fan of it. I do know a girl named Keller-Anne, though.
I think it's ugly. Also it's literally the German word for Cellar so that bugs me.
It's my mom's maiden name, and I would probably consider using it as a middle name because of that. I don't really like it as a first name - it's not awful, but it reminds me of the word "killer".
I don't hate it.
Keller is the name of a city that is very close to me though. Its a bit more upper class than my area and the area I work in. Financially, it's a bit inhospitable to my kind but not entirely out of reach. If I were to use it, it would have to be for a character or for after I move away and have lessened my familiarity with the name.
I could see myself using it though. I'm not sure if a character's personality would turn out well if I used it, but I could definitely picture myself using it for story-purposes.
I don't think this is a name I would give a living being though.... Well, maybe a cat.... If I found a stray in Keller and adopted it, Keller might be a pretty cute name for a tiger striped tabby.

It means cellar or basement in German, so it doesn't seem like a FN to me.
I don't hate it but I don't love it, either. I like the Helen Keller reference and that it doesn't end in "N," but I dislike that it's yet another 2-syllable K- name. I feel like I see so freakin' many of these for both sexes. The bloom is off the rose for the whole trend.
All I can imagine is Helen Keller.
All I can think of is that it means "basement" in German.
Why didn't I make that connection? D'OH.
that's exactly what I thought!

NMS, but not terrible.
I like it!
I'm very fond of it, actually. It has a light, rhythmic sound and a very pleasing appearance.
I was actually mentally composing a list of names from my studies this year to perhaps ask about once my exams are over (which will be Friday, argh!), and Keller was on there, as I've been studying Arthur Miller's All My Sons. Not sure how I'd feel naming a child in reference to a tragic hero, though.

Hmm, the sound isn't that repulsive, though I don't like the way it looks. Too tryndee for me, though. It fits in with all the made-up K names.
