Beryl
I've been seeing this name a lot lately, and it is really growing on me. It's got that eccentric bedazzled witch quality I apparently enjoy in names. It seems friendly and quirky. What do you think of Beryl? And, throw some combos at me!

I had a prof by this name. Nice enough lady. I think it is a bit clunky feeling, but still a bit endearing. I don't any any witchy vibes from Beryl at all. But friendly and quirky, yes. Also, wouldn't Bear make a sweet nickname for Beryl? :) How about this eclectic starting point:
Beryl Clementine
Beryl Amelia
Beryl Timothea
Beryl Plum - oops never mind, that makes it sounds like 'barrel'
Beryl Molly
Beryl Marguerite
Beryl JuniaFor some reason, I can't get Judith Beryl out of my head.

I actually really like this name, but to me it sounds kind of old-fashioned. Like quirky old-fashioned.

I totally see the appeal of Beryl. Very gemmy and yet warm like Beth.
However, although when I see it spelled it does not seem like it sounds like barrel ... when I say it aloud, it does sound like barrel. That bothers me enough that I can't star this name. Give me Meryl instead. What if there were a name, Veryl. (Hey, there is. I googled it.)

It totally sounds exactly like barrel when I say it too. I suppose that is kind of a bummer. Meryl is also ok, but not as weird-witchy, which gives me the sads. Veryl is pretty righteous though!

I looked up the pronounciation, but I'm still not sure I'm saying it right. I did know a couple of women named Beryl, as a child.Where I lived, it came out "Bur'l".
I didn't know, then, that it was jewell name. I don't think I like it very much.

I say it exactly like the word "Barrel". That could be wrong, but I'm not sure how else it could be said. Be-rill? Ba-rile? They are all pretty awful, I admit it. It's not for everyone!

It reminds me of Queen Beryl, an evil woman from a show I used to watch as a child. I'm trying to think of it in an unbiased light, and I don't really like it.Beryl Josephine

Beryl Winifred
Beryl Agatha
Beryl Esther

Ahh, Sailor Moon's Queen Beryl. Maybe that's where I get the witchy vibe from? Beryl is definitely a nice witch in my mind though. Or at least, if she's a bad witch, she's laughably ineffectual. I really love Beryl Miriam and Beryl Rosamund from your combos - thank you!
