They're both ugly, but in different ways. Agatha is full of itself and its ugliness, like somebody with a missing eye who goes around scaring people by lifting up their lid to show the empty socket and pushing their face in front of the one they want to scare.
Adelaide just sounds dumpy and crotchety.
