Re: French Names
in reply to a message by lusia
Sorry for any repeats. Some of my favorites include:
Anne, Françoise, Marguerite, Huguette, Eugénie, Sandrine, Gervaise, Oriane, Berangère, Isabeau, Léonie / Léontine, Germaine, Inès, Martine, Pascale, Clemence, Gisèle, Aurore, Hortense, Berthe, Catherine / Cateline, Odile, Bernadette, Celeste, Severine, Jeanne / Jehanne, Alix, Mathilde, Clothilde, Pauline, Ludivine, Manon, Godelieve, Louise, Maxine, Zélie, Valentine;
Bernard, Bertrand, Remy, François, Emeric, Honoré, Auguste, Hippolyte, Georges, Hubert, Hilaire, Damien, Thierry, Gerard, Edmond, Dieudonné, Evrard, Gustave, Loïc, Germain, Gervais, Jean-Baptiste, Clément, René, Laurent.
Some of these are more guilty pleasures. I'm sure if a French person were reading this right now they'd be laughing at my idea of French names -- most are so outdated. But I can't help it. These names sing to me.

Ah, I love Dieudonné and Loïc. I am sure I too would be laughed at by the France-living French. But, dusty old English names sing to me, so it only makes sense that dusty old French ones would too!
Ludivine is swoonable. I also like the Italian Ludovica, which many find weird. I find them charming.

Ludovica can come over for tea any time. She's a swingin' gal and is likely to have lots of gossip.
