I love it pronounced 'eye-REE-nee' but that'd be so hard to achieve nowadays. That's how it was said on the BBC's version of the Forsyte Saga, which I loved. I detest 'EYE-reen' because it's dated, and 'eye-REEN' even more so, because it reminds me of the dreadful soap Home and Away.
