As a nickname for Caroline I don't like it. It could work but Carrie or Cara is better.

I always liked Carly/Carli/Karlee, but I'd rather just see it on its own and not a nn. I don't like the name Caroline, and Caroline is such an aggressively elite kind of name that using Carli as a nn seems a bit self-conscious. Kind of like buying a $500 Little Black Dress and then wearing a $5 rhinestone choker with it.

I don't like the 'i'. Carly is ok as a nn for Caroline, but I don't like it as a full name.
