Re: Cordelia

I know a couple of Delias, the family is Italian and it's an honoring name for them.
Cordelia I like as well, but I rarely associate the two, despite the fact that Delia is actually IN Cordelia. I would also never used Delia as a nickname for Cordelia, because they are two separate names in my head. Kor-dee-lyah versus Dell-yah.
I love Codi, Corda, Cordi, and Dell for the classy Cordelia though. Dee would totally work as well.
As a full name, Cordelia is adorable on children, the same way that Evangeline, Angelica and Theodora, and Margaret are. The name is long and elegant/sophisticated... however when paired with a cherub little face it stransforms into an inspirer of "awww"s. I think it totally works. Though, I secretly like Cornelia better because it packs a little more punch and gives off a bold and empowered vibe, like a female adventurer.
As for Gwen Samantha, I appreciate that it is an uncommon and unexpected combo, but I still find the pairing a bit boring. Still, the idea seems right behind Samantha. Maybe a name with a similar vibe, like:
Gwen Amelia
Gwen Melinda
Gwen Stacey
Gwen Mariah
Gwen Caroline
Gwen Therese
Gwen Daniela
Those might not be the best combos out there, but they carry the same nostalgic feel as Gwen Samantha. (Ooo, Gwen Emmanuela would be cool though).
