Veronica?
What do you guys think about Veronica? I've never had any particular feelings about it (although I do know of a very stuck up Veronica who has soured the name for me a bit) but the topic of names came up with my friend over the weekend and he reacted super harsh to Veronica which surprised me a little. In a post below, I said how Preston seems like a spoiled rich kid's name and perhaps it's because I know a Veronica like this, it's reminding a bit of that as well. Anyways, how do you feel about Veronica?http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/139762

I love it.
We have it on our list. It's been bumped to top name a few times too. I agree that sometimes people react to it negatively, but I think that is because it was such a popular name in the 80s and 90s, both on real people and in pop culture. People almost always have an association with it. For me, the most common comments related to Archie Commics or the Veronica Mars tv show. I still love the name. It's upper class elegant to me, with a lot of class but a quirky personality. I despise the nicknames Ronni and Nica though. We would go with Veronica Perlas if we used it.
To me... it's in the same vein as Tiffany and Amber. Beautiful names, and full of life, but ruined by popular misconception and/or popularity.

It's OK, but I don't like any of the nn forms, so I'd never use it.I've only ever known Veronica people who are Catholics.

I think it does have that image due to the Veronica character in the Archie comics. I don't care. I love it. But I'd never use it for fear of the nickname Ronnie.

I've never cared much for it, personally. It does give me the air of being stuck up, for some reason. I don't have any associations with Veronica, so I don't know why I feel that way about it. It might be due to the sharpness of it, the harsh "ron" sound in the middle, and just the fact that it sounds very strong to me overall.

I never think of Veronica as stuck up. I can see her being a bit introverted. I usually imagine her as a brunette. I honestly really like the name, but mostly in the middle name spot.To me it seems like a serious, inward-reflecting name.

I like Veronica - it's spunky and fearless. The origin and meaning is nice. I don't have anything bad to say about it.

I like Veronica. It's sort of funny how your perception of a name can change based on meeting someone with that name. In high school, I knew a girl named Veronica who was sort of airy (in a good way) and hippie-ish. So to me, that's what Veronica reminds me of.

I like it. It's different, but familiar, and there's something lively and attractive about it. I've only ever met two and they were both Irish, so I think of it in connection with Catholics rather than rich kids.

Veronica feels a bit pointy and harsh to me. Not bad name, but to me a Veronica would be perfectly poised and wearing heels all the time. Just very put-together. I have a relative named Veronica who goes by RO-nee.

Veronica, beautiful name.
I don't know anyone actually named Veronica, though I do know a couple of young women named Veronique.(Both are occasionally nick-named Vero.)I would(would have!) used it for a daughter, except that with our long last name, it's too long.
