I don't think Gene would be half bad in the right application, namely not alongside a name as bad as Sailor.

Its pretty literal, but I think of a sailor wearing jeans. :/

I like Milo William. Sailor Gene otoh, is rather awful. Sounds like "oh, I have the sailor gene, I was born to be a sailor!"

Milo William is handsome but I don't care for Sailor at all; would much prefer to see something evocative of the sea or sailing ships rather than the word itself.

I read about that yesterday. As far as celebrity names go, it isn't TOO bad. A little Sailor gets off easy in comparison to a little Audio Science (which I actually like), or little Apple Blythe Alison Martin Pretty Pretty Princess Blabbity Blah Blah. I like Gene as a middle name. It's okay.

Well, Sailor is currently more popular for girls (most likely because of it's similarity with Taylor/Tailor). So, yeah I kinda agree with you that Sailor is the odd man out.

The combination makes me think that Liv's new baby boy has a gene that makes him become a sailor on a ship, rather than be her human shield. So, yeah I also agree with you that it's horrible in every step of the way.
