Hm, if he lives in a primarily English speaking country I think the name Ashkan is ill-advised because it immediately appears to be "ash can" regardless of how it is pronounced. Maybe there is another way to spell it, that looks more (to an English speaker) like the correct pronunciation? Ashkaan?Assuming you have realized that and decided you really don't care ...Malcolm

Ash can came to my mind immediately. Where I grew up, we cooked and heated the house with coal and wood,which produced ashes, which had to be cleaned out of the stove and furnace, and put in the ash can, a metal bin where the ashes sat for a while, until you were sure there were no live coals in them to start a fire. You list is good,I was especially pleased to see Lloyd;I had an uncle-by-marriage so named.
And to add! This uncle had a nephew named Maynard. Quite a good name.
