It does sound good - better than Christine but not as good as Christopher. Two of my great-grandmothers were named Christiana, so I suppose it and therefore Christian count as family names, but I find Christiana ungainly and Christian inappropriate - as you say, there would be questions.

That said, I know a Jewish atheist with a wife named Christine. This doesn't seem to worry them or anyone else.
