It's just another letter in just another alphabet. I find letter names insipid and silly in English - Dee, Kay, Elle - and using a Greek one which doesn't start with a d- sound in Greek and which indicates an unsuccessful test result and a wide river mouth system gives it too much baggage for not much of a return.
