I really like Delta! It's exotic and mysterious. I always think of the South too which is a bonus. ;-) I don't see it as having a lot of baggage. It's no different than any other Southern name such as Magnolia or Carolina. I do know a woman who named her dd Dixianna (nn Dixie) and I think that's a bit much. I definitely wouldn't go there.

By baggage I mostly meant that it's the name of an airline, and a Greek letter used frequently in sororities

Ah, I was approaching this from a strictly Southern perspective. :-) The other associations still don't bother me, though.
