Red is always cute for someone with red hair, if not a bit overused. I don't like Rex or Bucky-- mainly because they were names used for older men in my family. Reba makes me think of all things stereotypical country southern. Thanks, Reba McEntire.

Not feeling any of your nns although they're all plausible enough - Rex is the most do-able. Ray kind of works also in a weird sort of way (Re), maybe even Ruby?

I knew a Rebecca who went by"Ree-Bee", although I'm not actually sure how she spelled it. Reebie, Rebe, Rebie, who knows. Anyway, as far as sound goes I LOVE that!

Rex is a masculine name to me, so I find it hard to picture it as a nickname for a girl. It is also a stretch, and you would be explaining Rex, Bex all the time. It would be easier to say you call her Rex because she was born with small arms or liked to roar.
