Violet? (and interesting sibset I met)
What do you think of Violet? Is it too old-fashioned? What do you associate with it?Also, I met a woman the other day with some pretty interesting names for her kids:
Tiernan Maurice
Foy Elinor (I thought Foy would be a boy but nooope girl)
Miodora Roisin "Mio"What do you think? It's an unusual combination, no?

I like Violet. I am all for Violet. I'd rather meet Violets and Roses than any more Lilies. :)I think it is old-fashioned, but in that vintagey, making a come-back sort of way.I don't really have immediate associations.I like Tiernan, but Foy, not so much.

I knew a few Violets from the last time it was used. Without exception they were large, loud and none too bright. I ran this past my grandmother, who confirmed that she'd never met a quiet, reserved, pretty Violet either.I like Tiernan and Elinor, but pass on the rest.

I have known two young girls named Violet, one born in either 2008/2009, the other born in 2012. I like the name, I think it's lovely and feminine. A nice change from Rose or Lily. I like old-fashioned, so that doesn't bother me. I associate the violet flowers with the name! The kids' middle names are good, I especially like Elinor. I don't like their first names, though, not my cup of tea.

Violet is not old-fashioned at all in my books. I actually think of it as pretty hip and trendy. Tiernan Maurice - I kind of like Maurice. I forgot about him though. Tiernan is okay, but feels pretty flaky.
Foy Elinor - Foy sounds like a silly sound my kids would make. Weird.
Miodora Roisin - Miodora is okay. Mio is really cute.
Unusual and noteworthy indeed!

Not a fan of the sibset. I don't find Violet old-fashioned at all, it's been back in style for a while. It's ranked in the top 100 for USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Violet make me think of Ben Affleck / Jennifer Garner's daughter, who is named Violet Anne. I personally don't care for it, but it could grow on me.
