Personally, I find Stephen one of the dullest names. There are so many Stephens and Stevens and there is nothing that interests me about it. As to whether it's an issue that your second cousin who died had that name, it's a personal thing, I can't really say. It depend on how you feel about it, how close you were to him, etc..

Nathan is ok, not my style. Personally, I wouldn't find it an issue if those family members had similar names. Nathan and Natalie are different enough. Nathan and Nathaniel might only be an issue if they had the same nickname. But, again, it depends on how you feel about it.
