Do Elsa and Esther sound too similar for sisters?

Yes, the sounds are far too similar to use both as fns for sisters.

I think so. It's not something I'd ever do because the pair is truly sibilant, imo. I'd be tongue tripping all over them!

I think they do, but I can't quite place my finger on why (except that they both have Es and Ss in them). I would go with something like Elsa and Stella (similar meaning to Esther) or Elisabeth (nn Elsa) and Esther.

Yes.

I personally wouldn't use them together. I'm somehow inbetween... on the one hand, the names aren't too similar and match well according to their background. On the other hand, they may be too similar.

I seem to be in the minority here, but for some reason, I don't find them to be all that similar. I think they go quite well together, actually.

Very much so. Nice names but too similar even for twins

Not as similar as Elsa and Ella, say, but very similar.
I like Esther well enough, but Elsa is very Hausfrau to me.

A little bit. I prefer the variant Ilsa, which is pronounced slightly differently so they don't begin with the same eh sound or the same letter. If you do prefer Elsa to Ilsa, then go for both Elsa and Esther. They have completely different endings and that differentiates them.
