I really like it! It has significance to me too because it's the name of an historical mill where I grew up that was where we had our wedding reception. :)I know I used to have some killer Bowen combos before I lost all my stuff on my computer. :*( I think I paired it with either nice guy names or swashbuckling names. Like Bowen Benjamin or Bowen Balthazar. Not necessarily alliterated. Ha

My sister is in college and is always talking about her classmate named Bowen. Apparently, he's wonderful. Since that's my only impression of the name, I don't hate it. She doesn't know his middle name though.

Cute! It kind of reminds me of Rowan. I'd pair it with:Matthew
Alexander
Ephraim
MichaelThere are actually many names that would work with it, although I would stay away from middle names that have a similar ending (en, on, in, etc.)

Congratulations! Normally I'm not into surnames as first names. But this one reminds me of Elizabeth Bowen, an Irish writer whom I love. Plus, I love the name Bo on a boy. So overall Bowen has a hazy, warm glow for me. Thumbs up. I would stick with a more conventional middle name, but it's a minor point. Good luck! Bowen Edward
Bowen Lucas
Bowen Patrick
Bowen Christopher
Bowen Michael
Bowen Alexander
Bowen Cormac
Bowen Samuel
Bowen Rhys
Bowen Daniel (although Daniel Boone comes to mind which isn't a deal breaker, but distracting)
Bowen Kendrick
Bowen Arthur
Bowen Rex
Bowen Frederick
Bowen Peter
Bowen Heath
Bowen Keith
Bowen Gregory
Bowen Nathaniel
Bowen Thomas
Bowen Evander
Bowen David (wait, David Bowie and androgynous space outfits is killing this one for me)
Bowen Matthew:0)

I don't like it since it means son of Owen and if the father's name is not Owen I can't see the point of it. I have the same attitude to Harrison and Jackson. Besides, the "Bowen arrow" tease would get wearisome.

It sounds a little bit too much like "bone." I know, I'm too sensitive to things like this, and it reflects badly on me... in real life I would notice the soundalike, but I would not give it enough thought to bother smirking. It'd just be a guy's name, just another surname name, decent.Bowen James (if you don't mind BJ initials)
Bowen Tybalt
Bowen Craig
Bowen Diego
