Kauri (pronounced as KOW-ree) is a Karelian form of Gabriel, meaning "strong man of God". It's also very close to a Finnish word kauris, meaning "deer". Esko (ES-koh) is a Finnish variant of Eskil (a Swedish/Scandinavian name), meaning "god kettle" or "god helmet".
