Silvia

Sylvia, with the Y spelling, is one of my favorite names. I think it's unexpected, vintage, very feminine. A tad glamorous. Also reminds me of silver and forests, which are nice images. I also like Silvia (I actually first liked this name in the Silvia form) and it is more streamlined and cleaner than Sylvia. However, right now I prefer the classic look of Sylvia. If I met a little girl with this name I would be thrilled, and a little surprised, yes. I would use it myself.
I wouldn't be surprised, but delighted. Prefer the spelling Sylvia.
I know a 3-yr-old with this name and I love it on her. That's made me appreciate the name =)
I love this name, not only because it is my mother's name (she does spell it this way), but I also love the meaning and sound of the name. I do know a few little girls with this name and think that it is such a classy name that deserves more recognition. I will say that I never knew that Silvia was spelt any other way until I got to high school, but that's just because all the Silvias' I knew spelt their names with an 'i' rather than a 'y'.

Love the name. It's a really nice traditional name. I prefer the spelling Sylvia though.
I really like Silvia. I'd be a bit surprised to see it on a little girl, but it would be a very pleasant surprise.
I love it but prefer the spelling Sylvia. I would be mildly surprised to see it on a little girl.
