Thoughts on Ingrid?
I'm on the fence about adding it to my collection. It does have that older, vintage quality about it and I know that many dont like it
I never hated the name myself butnever paid it much attention.
Your thoughts? I think it could work on a younger generationsuch as Rose, Elizabeth, Greta etc

Yes, I think it could work on the next generation! I like the name though it's never been a favorite. It looks great typed. And I often am more partial to how a name looks than sounds. Though I don't think it sounds too harsh either!
I love Ingrid! It's classic, elegant and it has a nice touch of vintage. The factor I like most in Ingrid is that it's feminine without being frilly (like Hola put it): in fact, Ingrid is quite a strong name.
Personally, I would use Ingrid as a MN: I'm loving such combos as Elsa Ingrid and Elsa Ingrid Johanna (Johanna is my MN).

I think it's quite pretty and would be a sophisticated, unexpected choice.
Another name that feels similar to me is Lydia. You don't often hear people raving about it but when it comes up in the right combo it can be striking.

I like it. I can see it making a comeback. It is vintage - as you said - but it doesn't come across as dated to me, which makes it interesting. Normally I'm not a fan of old names being used on babies, but Ingrid is an exception. There's something pretty about it. It sounds very feminine, but not frilly.
It's god a surface attractiveness, but if I say it to myself I hear how rough and grating it sounds, like teeth-grinding, and without the warmth I feel from Greta or Gretchen.
