Alison / Allison
Which spelling would you use, and what are some good middle names? Also, what do you think of Taylor Alison? *like Taylor Swift*

XD I was also trying to think of something to go with Faith one day. Alison Faith sounds nice.

I see Allison as a ln - I've known several - and since I dislike lnfns in general (with a few exceptions like Stuart) that puts me off. I love Alison and would have used it but DH's family used to contain a very dodgy Alison relative who put them all off! Anyway, I love Alice and since Alison with one l is a diminutive, that's another reason for preferring it.Alison Rosalie
Alison Jean
Alison Elinor
Alison Ruth
Alison EmilyTaylor Alison? I'd expect them to be separated by a comma, and to appear on an alphabetical list where the surname comes first. I know nothing about Taylor Swift - no doubt it's a person.

She's a country music singer. Alison Ruth sounds good.

The double L spelling appeals to me more, because it looks more complete to me. But I don't mind the single L. I do really like the name Allison in general- just saying that for good measure.Taylor is growing on me, maybe due to meeting an adorable little Taylor. I'm not the biggest fan of unisex names, but Taylor is very sleek.

I used this name and chose double 'elles' because I thought it looked a bit more feminine.

Allison CalypsoI don't like Taylor Alison. I really dislike the name Taylor and don't see the appeal of it. I guess the names sound okay together.

I'm an Alison, and I have nothing but good things to say about my name. I love it. Alison is the only spelling I like, but there's nothing wrong with Allison, really. If finding the name on pencils or souvenir keychain is important to you, Allison is the way to go.No Taylor combo is going to appeal to me, since I find it too tired, gruff, and homely. Even Alison can't save it. Alison Pearl
Alison Georgia
Alison Faye
Alison Camilla
Alison Katrina
Alison Laura
Alison Miranda
Alison Amelia
Alison Fiona
Alison Thora
Alison Riley
Alison Bridget
Alison Vanessa --- me. :)Making combos with your own name is surprisingly fun!

I don't like the name, but I prefer the Alison spelling because it seems less like a surname. Now that I think of it, maybe that's one reason I far prefer my name the way I spell it, Janice, to Janis. Janis is a surname.

it is?I never saw Janis as a surname. Janos, yes, it's Jesse Ventura's real surname. I actually did see a character in a book with the last name Janice.
Janis just looks too much like phonetic spelling.

There is a musician and actor named Conrad Janis. I looked it up, and that was the surname he was born with, not an assumed name. Because I was aware of this as his surname, I've occasionally looked to see if there is anyone with the surname Janis in the phone book and I've found a few. Here's a page about the Janis surname:http://www.geni.com/surnames/janisNot a very common surname, at least in the U.S, but a surname.
