Beatrix
A friend of mine is expecting, and she is naming her daughter Beatrix Mary nn Bea. What do you think of this name? It's after Beatrix Potter, who was her favorite author growing up. Mary is honoring both grandmothers.
She also mentioned that her husband likes names like Algernon and Erasmus for a boy, so she is happy it's a girl, haha.

Beatrix is growing on me, but I'm not sure about the nickname Bea because the way I pronounce Beatrix it's more like BEER-triks rather than BEE-triks. I prefer the nickname Trixie anyway. Mary is lovely! I love it love it love it!
Erasmus is quite cool when you say it aloud even if it looks a bit weird... Algernon doesn't sound appealing or look cool.

I love Beatrix Potter and love the name because of her! I also really like the nn Bea. Pairing it with Mary is perfect because Beatrix is a little more exotic sounding than Mary and so opposites attract in this case.
I can't get being Erasmus, despite wanting to, because it always reminds me the word aroused.
