Bryony
What do you think of the name Bryony, as a whole? (not necessarily on a person)

This is my favorite name in the world and been for at least 10 years. I love how it looks, sounds, and "feels."
I don't care for the sound. Plus, that character in atonement. It seems bratty.
Bronies
That what it reminds me of.
That what it reminds me of.
I kind of like it. I am surprised it hasn't caught on in the US.
I love it for a person. Just do, it's beautiful.
I want to like it, but I dislike the multiple Y's and I really dislike the nickname Bry. Every Bry I have met (and all alternate spellings in fact) have been snobby types.
I don't really like it - both the look and sound don't appeal to me at all.
I used to really hate it, but I don't so much anymore. It's still not a favourite, and I don't like how it sounds like briny, but I think it would be lovely on a person in real life. I like the Bryony spelling better than Briony.
I do not like it at all. Bryony is one of those names that don't look good and sound bad as well.
I like it a lot, but am not quite so keen on Briony. I can't stand Brian, so I suspect I prefer Bryony and to a lesser extent Briony owing to the way they look rather than the way they sound, although my long-standing love of Bronwen may play a subconscious part. The plant itself is a bit of a let-down, with flowers that lack any pretensions to being celebrated like, say, Rose, Iris, Marguerite, Violet and Daisy!
Sounds like something I can't warm up to.
I'm in a fight with myself over it. One side of thinks it sounds like Brianna, which I absolutely loathe and think is the tackiest name ever. One side of me thinks it's all British and Atonement-ish. I don't know.
Heh, that's where I am with it as well. I want to love it for its Britishness and natureyness, but Br- names irk me generally because it's such a trendy sound.
Ditto!
