Ellen is my vote. Heck, Ellen is miles better than Ellie any day. I really like Ellen and wonder why it isn't more popular now; it fits right in with the lyn/len endings, and with Ella/Ellie/Elizabeth ad nauseam.
I suppose she could also be Michelle or Danielle or anything else with an elle ending, but Ellie as a nn for one of those seems a stretch even though going by sound alone it isn't. It's just not done.
